Associate Consultant, Sustainable Design

Position Overview

The primary focus of this position is design & technical support to green building consulting project teams. The successful candidate shall demonstrate the ability to work under guided supervision and work well with diverse groups and interests. This position offers growth potential.

Job Description:
- Perform technical analysis in support of project teams including: energy and daylighting simulations, thermal analysis, water efficiency calculations, materials recommendations and drawing and specification review, etc.
- Prepare reports, create presentations and provide building design and construction assistance to project teams
- Charrette facilitation and preparation
- Prepare and submit LEED documentation to the U.S. Green Building Council
- Provide interpretations to team members on LEED related issues
- Research and present green building strategies and analyses to clients and design teams
- Open to travel within the US and overseas

Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in engineering, architecture or allied field.
- Training by the National Charrette Institute
- LEED Accredited Professional or LEED project experience preferred
- Experience in whole building design, including technical evaluation as demonstrated by either, 2 to 3 years professional experience with demonstrated progression in building design with an emphasis on green building, or an advanced degree in engineering, architecture or allied field with a focus on green building, energy or building science, and with practical experience gained through internships, fellowships, or similar on-the-job training
- Experience developing and implementing sustainability concepts and strategies as demonstrated through actual project or program work
- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards
- Strong communication & writing skills and technical presentation ability
- Project management experience a plus
- Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite-excel, PowerPoint etc; working knowledge of graphic and layout software (AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Experience with energy modeling or interest in learning other analytical and visualization software
